As I worked on a new music video for Vita and the Vicious and got to discover a new venue ticked away in the depths of East London.

There is a crumbly old Victorian pub on Glyn Road in Homerton, East London, called The George. I have walked past it lots of times during the past two years. Its pale blue peeling paint, faded signage and cracked pillars told me that it had been closed for some time, however on closer inspection through couple of cracked windows I got a glimpse of dormant activity within and I imagined a group nerdy superhero vigilantes having clandestine meetings and secret parties in the former bar downstairs…

My imaginings were not so far from the truth (apart from the nerdy vigilante superheroes bit) when about two weeks ago I got invited to the regular Monday Folk Night by a friend and after clambering in through the side door I found a room full of friendly faces and some bluesy folky bands performing in the corner of the bar. Barrels of ale and old fashioned shindiggery. After a few words in the right direction, nudges and winks I got to see the cellar which we bagged as the location for the new music video for Vita and the Vicious.

The next night at the George will be on Monday 26th of April, 171 Glyn Road, E5 0JT. Doors open at 8pm its £3 on the door which goes to the musicians.

The music video follows Vita as she hypnotises her subjects and keeps them in a cellar so she can rehearse with them whenever she feels like it.

Directed by me ole pal Joodle and Produced By Janoodle… better Known as Judy Jacob – Beggars Velvet and Karen Janody at Creative City. The shoot went really well and we all had a good laugh when we had to keep quiet for a couple of hours so the local choir group could rehearse upstairs and then when Vita had to repeatedly whip sheets off the hypnotised band members…much to the dismay of our hair stylist.
