Run Riot team away- day at The Print Club London

Last week a few members of the Run Riot family took a day off to do some team building and screen-printing at Dalston printing studio 'The Print Club London'.Here's a blow by blow, massively over-simplified account of the process.

First we were shown how to apply the emulsion to our screens, Run Riot founder Jamie does a smashing job below:

Then we had a go at making positives out of the images we'd chosen to work with; ranging from comic book characters to vintage photographs. We were using two colours, so had to work with two layers.

Then we used a big, fancy machine to transfer the positives to the emulsion on our screens- no pics of this as it was in a 'dark room'.Here's Patrick our editor with the Dotpod logo on his screen:

After lunch came the fun, messy stuff. We chose our colours and began printing, pulling the paint through the screens onto the paper:

Then we had to wait for the first colour to dry before we could add the second.Even cleaning our screens was great fun;we got to use a noisy, jet-powered washing thing which we had to wear headphones to operate.WILD!Here we are with our final images.A number of us are now seriously hooked, so expect more print action from us for birthdays/anniversaries/launches or any old excuse. For more details on how you can take your work team to learn something new together, see The Print Club London website:
