Portfolio Preview #2 / Aksiniya aka Aks
Aks sent through an incredible portfolio; it has a real flair and rawness that we are seeing from alot of recent graduate portfolios at the moment. Looking through the work; there is to us a tangible sadness in many of the subjects; who are often wrapped in quite unpredictible settings.
Aksiniya (who's Russian name is contracting to Aks) is keen to underline that her 'work' doesn't feel like work. Her joy of being "plunged" within the work is evident, the extent of her materials harder to discern. She works her drawings up with a mixture of pens, pencils, paints and textile design and is starting to work more with animation (an area where we see her work being incredibly powerful). She (like so many) loves to experiment.
Inspired by the usual suspects of people, fashion, music its refreshing to hear about her love of stamp-boxes.
Do check out her website; she has some great work on it; and do get in touch with her if you want to add a little Russian texture to a project or piece of work.
If you would like to see your work here; then do add it to this Flickr group; or upload it to that facebook page or do just pop something in the post.
All the best
