The Gig List 6: Anthony Chalmers lines up the week's best London gigs

This is the new blog that tells you the sweetest London gigs for the next seven days. God don't like it, but we do. Here's the hardest music Elf since Little Richard...Anthony Chalmers

After an amazing weekend back with some more recommendations for the week! Did anyone go to The Macbeth all dayer last night? I had some huge massive love for that! :)

Not sure I can drag myself out the house today... but maybe let's see. There are some ace gigs tonight though with These New Puritans playing Bush Hall. Saw them at Rough Trade last week and was great, their new album
is a stunning piece of work.

If Sheperds Bush is too far or tickets too expensive (is pretty pricey!) then go and see Choir of Young Believers at Hoxton Bar and Kitchen. They toured with Mew recently and are pretty much the same band as Chimes & Bells just in a bit of a different sequence and anyone who read the last one of this knows how much I love Chimes & Bells!

In fact I could end up spending most of the week in Bar and Grill... Tuesday is all about Vivian Girls, Veronica Falls & Blue on Blue! Unfortunately I think it has sold out so no point plugging that one... Well go to see Meursault at 1:15 at Puregroove for a start they are brilliant...and then maybe First Aid Kit at Rough Trade at 7:00. Both of them totally free!

Wednesday is one of mine and again at Hoxton Bar and K! It's probably my favorite band in the whole country Sons of Noel & Adrian. They are a genuine miracle, proof of the divine in my mind! They are supported by Alessi's Ark & O Emperor should be a winner. I have put lots of video's etc up on ...

Thursday I'm down at Queen of Hoxton with proper GDLI regulars David Cronenbergs Wife & Paul Hawkins & Thee Awkward Silences and a first time down for Horse and Condor who sound like a really interesting and brilliant band. Gareth from
Bearded is DJing which makes it worth coming down alone. No really it actually does he brings the tunes!

Friday I'm hosting The Dust Bar in Clerkenwell but isn't the best place to be honest although it is normally pretty fun times...hmmmm lets see....... We have a winner! Totally forgot that Lets Wrestle are playing an Instore at Flashback records in Islington. Love a bit of Lets Wrestle :)

Saturday there is just so many shows don't really know which ones to say... We Have Band,Drum of Death & Django Django at The Barfly, Real Estate at The Lexington... actually not them at all. If it's sold out yet it's all about The Brixton Windmill for Johnny Foreigner, Internet Forever & Stairs to Korea, that is massive. I'd go to Fulham for that line´-up... Tottenham even!

Sunday Midlake and Lawrence Arabia at Wiltons Music hall maybe, not massive Midlake fan but heard that the venue is amazing. If that's a bit big and pricey go to Dag for Dag at Old Blue Last thing She Keeps Bee's might be playing too. Great line´-up.

Well there we go! Bit short but I am unspeakably hungover as per always a Macbeth, Catch, Joiners trio has taken it out of me...

I'l just carry on the weekly band recommendation thing and go for Sons of Noel & Adrian. Lots of stuff on my website about them so don't have to write too much, stunning band!

Have a good week!
x Ant
