On living more or less
Me and my transgender bike; oh what fun it is to ride on a one speed racing frame.
And so she said, the words come less freely sometimes, the living coming first.
Having (seemingly) arrived at a pre-set destination, the goals ahead seem less clear.
I've written about wanting more and now i'm wanting less.
Less fury, less calm.
Less, less, less, less, less!
Chances are what I really mean is less commitment.
Ahhhh, now we have arrived at the heart of the matter!
London town where the fireworks flare,
Dalston Junction for dim sum and after hours parties
Spitalfields for sausages and mash and
Hackney Wick for a stop off on the bike before
my bed and a date with twin peaks.
What more she cried? I heard her hollering in the dark of night
Much less, I replied, pointing at her multi layered socks.
These are for comfort and warmth, she informed
that they kept her toes toasty in the dead of winter
and her heart thawed out in the independent fog.
Ahhh, I see, I said and nodded my enlightenment
that makes sense, why it does
and quickly slipped a second layer over the first
on my own feet
because its november already and everyone needs a little kiss.
