Grace Nicol is fired up for change. As a choreographer she has been challenging the traditional structures in dance and performance. Her platform Women SRSLY for female identifying makers in the arts is a year-round programme that celebrates, supports and amplifies female voices. She talks to Run-Riot about why this is so important right now.
Don’t Be Absurd, a new theatrical collaboration between Kesia Guillery (director and theatremaker) and William Farquarson (bassist/guitarist with indie band Bastille), are bringing ‘SLUTS’, an eclectic theatre show about sexuality, language, and slut-shaming through the centuries, to VOILA Festival at Applecart Arts from the 12th-17th November.
Sean Gandini, Artistic Director of Gandini Juggling, and choreographer Alexander Whitley are both keen collaborators - Sean even refers to himself as a 'promiscuous collaborator'. Yet the interaction between dance and juggling has, for Sean, proved to be one collaboration he is repeatedly drawn back to.
