The alternative event for the contemporary art market- discover the next Banksy.11th-14th October

Now in its third year Moniker Art Fair has become a highlight of London art week and attracts some of the most renowned and talked about artists, galleries and curators from this genre, which has its roots firmly embedded in urban culture. Moniker 2012 promises to be the boldest undertaking yet.

This year the focus will be on designated artist project spaces, providing artists with an opportunity to show experiential projects and ideas that may be outside of their everyday practice. Moniker’s flagship artist spaces offer a purer way for collectors and art fans to view the art than a traditional gallery setting. Each space will be individually curated providing a dynamic and thought provoking dimension to Moniker 2012. Contemporary art galleries, both international and UK based, have been invited to select an artist from their roster to participate in this installation only edition of Moniker.

Artists lined up for Moniker 2012 include the legendary Pop Surrealist Luke Chueh who has quickly worked his way up the ranks of the LA art scene, establishing himself as an artist not to be ignored. Employing minimal color schemes, simple animal characters, and a seemingly endless list of ill-fated situations, Chueh stylistically balances cute with brute, walking the fine line between comedy and tragedy.

Pam Glew, known internationally for her works on flags and denim, will be creating a new body of work for the fair. Glew has worked with Armani, Nintendo, Wagamama and MTV in recent months and will be filling an artist space with an immersive theatrical installation in her distinctive vintage style. Leading San Francisco gallery White Walls will be supporting a number of artists including the ever popular and highly collectable ‘Hush’ who’s figurative work fuses Eastern and Western culture seamlessly.

Ben Eine will be making a welcome return to Moniker after being such a huge part of its inaugural event in 2010. Since shooting to international fame when David Cameron presented one of Eine's works as a gift to President Obama, Eine has been on a seemingly nonstop tour painting huge murals in all four corners of the world.
