21 Jun 2012 - 9 Sep 2012 Nothing Is Set In Stone is a monolithic installation by artist Mira Calix, incorporating an interactive sound system enabling visitors to experience the work through both touch and sound. Set in the tranquil surroundings of Fairlop Waters, a stunning country park and nature reserve in the London Borough of Redbridge, the work will appear organically rooted in its landscape.
Mira Calix is an award-winning composer, singer and performance artist known for her absorbing and experimental music and performance works. She has set the words of William Shakespeare to music, composed for the London Sinfonietta, worked with indie innovator Malcolm Middleton and supported Radiohead. She is the winner of a British Composer Award and has performed at Glastonbury, All Tomorrow's Parties, Sonar, the Barbican in London and the Sage Gateshead.
