Balance is a document of the current European hardcore music scene, exploring the ‘twin lives’ of musicians, promoters and artists who must work day jobs to fund their passion.

Incorporating photographs of the subjects both at work and performing, with interviews and a brief history of the scene, the book documents the people that drive European hardcore.

This show is an exhibition of select images from the book, which is a collaboration between Tom Barry (member of the hardcore band Kartel and music journalist) and Sophia Schorr-Kon (London based photographer).

There has been a number of recent books and documentaries - this is the first to focus on the modern scene, the social and economic struggle and the first to document the European scene.
