A resonate love story set in 18th-century France, from French writer-director Céline Sciamma (Girlhood, Tomboy, Water Lilies).

Friday 14 February 18:25 and Friday 21 21:00.

In late 18th century France, young painter Marianne is commissioned by an affluent countess to covertly paint the wedding portrait of her headstrong daughter Héloïse in the hope it will find her a wealthy husband. Marianne is instructed to complete the portrait in secret while posing as Héloïse’s hired companion, observing Héloïse by day and painting her by night. However, as the two women grow closer, their intimacy begins to blossom, paving the way for a passionate, thrilling romance.
