It’s never been a better time to be a landlord in London, but what happens when the most coveted new office is constructed in a tree?
TREExOFFICE is the creation of Australian American artist, Natalie Jeremijenko, in collaboration with artists Shuster + Moseley and architects Tate Harmer.
In the canopy of an urban tree, it offers an alternative to the conventional working space and economy. Acting as its own landlord, this tree offers sanctuary, a power supply, and free WiFi amongst the bustle of East London. The workspace is owned and operated by the tree itself, with revenues made being reinvested into Hackney’s parks.
TREExOFFICE will open for 2 Degrees Festival and remain available to hire for office use, as well as hosting performances, talks and events, until December 2015.
TREExOFFICE is commissioned by Artsadmin as part of the 2 Degrees Festival in partnership with London Borough of Hackney and Groundwork London as part of the ParkHack programme, supported by NESTA.
