A homage to the shared joys of Sunday, Sunday Papers Live takes the traditions of an ordinary Sunday and blows them up to a huge, communal event, bringing the papers themselves to life.

How does it work? Each section of the Sunday Papers is presented in an oversized living room by a speaker, performer or group. Then, using Cecil Sharp House as a main hub, guests are encouraged to enjoy the local parks and waterways, join guided walks and workshops on Primrose Hill, and take part in pub quizzes, arts and crafts and live music.

To top it off, there is of course a mega Sunday roast, plus brunches, benedicts, fresh coffees, teas, cakes, smoothies, tipples, martinis and a Bloody Mary bar.

Legendary writer and filmmaker Tariq Ali joins the festivities this time around, with Newsweek’s digital editor Serena Kutchinsky also chairing a discussing with editor-in-chief of Vice UK, Rebecca Nicholson, alongside comedian Andy Zalzman of The Bugle. Former monk and long-term peace and environmental activist Satish Kumar will be tackling the gardening section, while life-drawing, massages, scrabble, live music, lonely hearts matchmaking club and bespoke personalised letter-writing fill the supplements. Once again, food can expected to be a major focus of the day (as it should be), with Tom Hunt and Marinate Van Der Valk plying guests with fine meats, vibrant vegetables and an abundance of flavour. And in case that somehow isn’t enough to tempt you, The Flaming Lips Bloody Mary Bar (with five varieties of Sunday’s answer to the elixir of life), really ought to.

“No holds barred, lively, engaging, provoking - the Sunday Papers Live is everything that alas most actual Sunday papers are not!”

Jon Snow

“Part carefully curated round-table, part village jamboree, the organisers have brought the Sunday papers to life in a full-day fiesta with all the trimmings. If one could bottle the essence of an apple orchard groaning with fruit on a balmy summer's day, then you would come pretty close to understanding what the Secret Forum have managed to create here."
