The RA and Pin Drop invite you for an evening of short fiction inspired by the Royal Academy of Arts' exhibition The Renaissance Nude, read by critically acclaimed British actor Russell Tovey.

To coincide with their exhibition The Renaissance Nude, Russell Tovey will read Civilisation, a short story by author Will Self from A Short Affair – Pin Drop’s anthology of original short fiction, which features new illustrations by artists from the RA Schools.

Russell Tovey is one of the leading actors of his generation. He has starred in award-winning films including The Pass, Pride and Alan Bennett’s, The History Boys, and has had leading roles in major television shows including Looking, Him & Her and Being Human. Tovey also recently starred in Pinter at the Harold Pinter Theatre, and Angels in America at the National Theatre. He is a keen art collector and in 2018 was selected for Apollo’s annual 40 Under 40 in the collector category, and is co-host of the podcast Talk Art – interviewing leading artists, curators and gallerists.

After the reading, Tovey will be joined for an interview and audience Q&A.
