A beautifully, simple concept. 5 speakers, 15 minutes of live story telling each. Expect an evening of extraordinary stories from the frontiers of human experience.

On the line up: the Astronomer Royal, Martin Rees, leads us into the future to look at the prospects of humanity. Can we survive the rise of AI? Or is it human stupidity that we should be really afraid of?

Human Rights lawyer Philippe Sands QC (author of East West Street, and the podcaster behind The Ratline) tells a story that takes us into a Turkish maximum security prison to meet the writer Ahmet Altan. Altan is serving a life sentence for ‘subliminal messaging’ - his "profoundly moving" memoir, written from jail is I Will Never See the World Again.

And the journalist and activist Bee Rowlatt - chair of the Mary on the Green campaign - tells us why we should do more to celebrate one of history’s most neglected icons. Mary Wollstonecraft was a pioneering feminist, author of A Vindication of the Rights of Woman, and a local hero - she resided for many years in Newington Green.
