This surreal docu-fiction proves that the revolution will be sexual, WR: Mysteries of the Organism begins with an investigation into the life and work of controversial psychoanalyst Wilhelm Reich, who believed in the therapeutic, liberatory benefits of the orgasm. Makavejev’s film then explodes into a drama about a young woman’s sexual awakening, with a Stalin-like celebrity ice skater, of course.
