Introduced by writer and historian Partha Mitter, O Horizon is Otolith Group's essay film exploring the educational philosophy of Rabindranath Tagore.
Filmed in Visva-Bharati, a school founded by Tagore in Santiniketan, West Bengal, this filmic mediation focuses on the school’s material production, philosophy and practice, reflecting its conception as a living educational laboratory. A series of essayistic portraits reflect upon modernist theories of art, nature, craft, and radical pedagogy as developed by Tagore, whose life and thought informed the building of this unique institution.
