A fantastic triple bill at The Place as part of Resolution 2016. Caledonia Walton, Sofie Burgoyne and Julie Cunningham present three thought-provoking, dramatic dances with a touch of comic flair.

You’ll be in for a treat at The Place on Wed 10 Feb. Three female dancers and choreographers bring three very different pieces of dance. Caledonia Walton, in Living… in the Living Room, through physical movement and a touch of comedy, looks at the tension between three women wanting to leave a house, yet being confined inside. Sofia Burgoyne makes live choreographies that aim to provoke thought on our current state of being. She does just that in Dancing together apart/Dancing apart together as she attempts to both unite and separate in a dance. Ending the night will be Julie Cunningham with Deep Down. This work explores our guts. Gut feelings and instinct help us decide how to act in the moment. What can our guts teach us if we listen?

Resolution 2016 is the UK’s biggest dance festival for emerging artists, and is now in its 27th year. Running from 8 Jan until 19 Feb it presents 78 companies ready to test the limits of dance through bold ideas and movement.
