Under Glass blends visual imagery, choreography and theatre with an original score to create a haunting exhibition of human life.
Following a sold out run at Village Underground, London in 2009 and award-winning presentation at Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Clod Ensemble are reviving their “astonishing and unforgettable” (The Scotsman) production Under Glass, originally commissioned by Sadler’s Wells.
In a promenade performance, the audience moves through a space that is at once medical laboratory, museum exhibit and gallery, where dancers are kept like specimens in glass containers. This dream-like walk takes characters out of their everyday life and frames their moments of solitude; examining human beings attempting, with varying success, to live within their limits.
