Rumble in the Jumble!

What happens when you bring together a bunch of passionate, rad women from the music industry, a whole load of cool celebrity glad rags, and a worthy cause to champion? You get Rumble in the Jumble - probably the best jumble sale ever!

Our Guest Editor this week is Kate Hutchinson, Rumble in the Jumble's Managing Director (her other hats include being a DJ, radio presenter and the Guardian Guide's Deputy Editor). She tells us about The Circle and its sister groups (the charity behind the Jumble) set up by Annie Lennox in partnership with Oxfam; what exactly the fundraiser aims to achieve; plus hints at who's contributed to this years jumble - you can expect stuff from Mark Ronson, Florence Welch, Paloma Faith, Beth Ditto, and Lauren Laverne to name but a few! Read the interview here.

Kate's top-4 tips include Dalston's home grown music and arts festival Land of Kings at various venues; NTS Industrial Soundtrack for the Urban Decay at the ICA - a film on industrial music and the avant-garde scene; and Doug Aitken's Station to Station - A 30-day happening at the Barbican (think edgy, contemporary artists with headline grabbing names).

In our Magazine section we also talk to international musician and composer Ljova - bringing his signature blend of Russian folk, jazz, Balkan Gypsy and Klezmer to Village Underground on 29th April, taking part in City of London Sinfonia's Emigre festival.

We highlight jobs with Pacitti Company (Admin and Think Tank Assistant), Bloomsbury Festival (Programmer and Festival Coordinator), LIFT (Finance and Administration Assistant), and the Royal Academy of the Arts (Events and Lectures Programmer).

In our Best of the Rest - Lilly Cole dreams of a better world - and takes action (we have tickets); cult artist Ron Athey performs a body ritual (we have tickets); all girl troupe Figs and Wigs get avant-garde at Soho Theatre (we have tickets - check!); satire, music and chat at Louche Women hosted by performance artist Caroline Smith and Channel 4's Sue Kreitzman (yeah - we have tickets!). More satire with The Lady's not for Walking like an Egyptian; or see some of the best photography going at 2015 Sony World Photography Awards Exhibition; sexy feminist art by Waxchick at The Library Members Club; foodies will love Happy Endings 'Dessert Nights: A Month of Sundaes' at Pond Dalston! Rave at the Bussey Building with Digital City; or book your place with the Art of Mindfulness - Mind Wandering Workshop with neuroscientist and leading Mindful trainer Dr Tamara Russell!
