Private Life

In Farringdon you'll find London's much loved hub for literature and free expression, a venue aptly titled Free Word. This year they took on two new Season Producers to develop a program 'exploring the power and politics of words' - which launches on Monday 15 October.

Our Guest Editor this week is one of the producers, Zain Dada. In his interview with Run-Riot he loops us in with the 'urgent contemporary themes' they'll be taking on. Expect performance, film screenings, debates, installations and film. For anyone interested in the 'power of the Word', and all aspects around 'Privacy' - dive in!

In our Magazine section serial sleep-walker-and-talker Tom Adams writes for Run-Riot about his gig-theatre collaboration with Lillian Henley (Associate Composer of 1927).

We're gliding into ice skating season. Giving us a magnificent contemporary twirl are the ice-skating stars Le Patin Libre who return to the Ally Pally rink as part of this years Dance Umbrella. Here, they tell their story (catch them from 18-21 Oct).

Ahead of the Truth to Power Cafe at the Roundhouse (30 and 31 Oct) Daniel Vais from Culture Devise Dance Project & Radical Beauty Project interviews two outspoken Down syndrome participants: Otto Baxter & Ruby Bond - both taking part at the Roundhouse event.

For more culture gems and competitions (Danusia Samal's Busking It at Shoreditch Town Hall; Dance Umbrella / Le Patin Libre's Threshold at Alexandra Palace Ice Rink; Craig Charles' October FunkFest at EartH; and Britain's Private Shame at Free Word) - browse our Offers page.
