Lost Hearts

Calling all 'smushy lovebirds, those who have loved and lost and those who are still looking for love...'

Our Guest Editor this week is Suzette Field, the renowned Impresario behind The Lost Hearts Valentine's Masked Ball taking place at Soho's Century Club (9 Feb). She's also the author of A Curious Invitation, a delicious book that tells us about forty of the greatest festivities from fiction.

In Suzette's Run-Riot interview she tells us of the golden servers who dangle grapes into gaping mouths, and the tragic inspiration of Adam and Eve, Orpheus and Eurydice and Tristan and Isolde - ahead of this years hedonistic ball.

In our Magazine section contemporary dancer and critic Valerie Ebuwa questions if some reviewers are challenged by the 'brown body'. 'Talk, fight, and f*ck' - Ira Brand unpacks the role of power and submission in situ.

If you haven't seen what #LedByDonkeys are up to - click here to view their giant billboard project for Brexit. It's escalated somewhat.

For more weird culture gems and obscure competitions and offers (win tickets to see Greg Woehead as part of NOW19 at the Yard Theatre; or Dracula at The London Library; or see OutBox Theatre's 'And The Rest of Me Floats' at the Bush Theatre; lastly - grab yourself the early bird tickets for Clod Ensemble at the Southbank Centre) - browse our Offers page. As for the best of the rest - rummage through our genre-bending pages where you'll find plenty of haut happenings.

Here's to wishing you a heartily frivolous week dear Players! Bottoms up! RR xx
