Dates and Times: Thu 27 Jun - Sun 15 Sep 2019, 10:00 - 18:00.
Exploring the tension between façade and identity, the National Portrait Gallery presents a new major retrospective of works by leading contemporary artist Cindy Sherman
Including the ground-breaking series, Untitled Film Stills, 1977-80, this major new exhibition will explore the development of Sherman’s work from the mid-1970s to the present day, and will feature around 150 works from international public and private collections, as well as new work never before displayed in a public gallery.
The exhibition focuses on the artist’s manipulation of her own appearance and her deployment of material derived from a range of cultural sources, including film, advertising and fashion.
